And one day when you look back upon your images, you will be so thankful that you took the time to have professional photos to capture the emotions and expressions. Reminisce!
BOOKING PROCESS After you have decided that you would like to hire us, we’ll ask you to commit to the session by signing an agreement and paying a retainer. This will give you peace of mind to have everything in writing, so that you know exactly what you are getting.
Next we’ll get a date on the calendar. We will contact you either via phone or e-mail to confirm within 24-48 hours of our scheduled shoot. The remaining payment will be due on the day of the shoot. The only exception is wedding photography, which must be paid in full two weeks prior.
On the day of your shoot just have fun and be yourself. After the photoshoot, we will transfer the images to my laptop and we can review and pick your favorite photos to retouch – and you will choose your packages at that time. We’ll send you a few images from your session at least a couple days following the shoot. The final edited images will be ready within ten to fourteen days of your photo session. Turnaround time for custom products will vary.
What to Wear: Tips for Selecting Your Wardrobe A lot of people ask what they should wear to their photo session? After all, these photographs will become a staple in your family frames and albums for years to come. Choosing timeless, yet appropriate attire will lend to the positive outcome of your photo shoot.
If it’s an indoor session, choosing soft, warm colors can be very pleasing to the lens. Outdoors, you can opt for bolder colors, earth tones or contrasting, such as big stripes paired with a solid color. Pinstripes or small dots generally do not photograph well. Wearing accessories can add a nice touch, but try to avoid accessories that are too big as they may overshadow your face.
• Choose soft colors, such as pink, light blue, lavender, yellow, etc. for dreamy looks • Choose bold colors such as red, black, dark blue, purple or orange for dramatic look • Minimal accessories are best, as too big or too many can detract from the image • For children, bring outfits that have a lot of creativity behind them. They can be fun, layered looks, sporty, textures (tutus and ruffles for girls look so cute!), jeans, khakis, sweaters, skirts, dresses, etc. “Sunday” wear dress code works well
• Men, avoid wearing white socks with dress shoes. Make sure your shoes are clean, not raggedy or muddy. Barefoot photos can also be fun! For the women, boots, heels, sandals or dress shoes look great.
Displaying Your Photos
To Frame or Not to Frame… Amazing photos deserve an equally amazing display—but that doesn’t have to mean a traditional frame. We have access to many creative vendors who offer wide varieties of traditional and non-traditional framing and display options. Whether it’s a traditional frame with hand-cut matting, shadow box or float frames, we can expertly guide you to the right fit for your images. Looking for something truly sleek, chic and modern? Try going frameless! Canvas gallery wraps, image blocks, standout mounts and other creative prints still showcase your photos beautifully, but offer a modish spin that goes perfectly with more contemporary décor. No matter which method you choose, get creative! Filling your walls with a lifetime of memories is one of the most special, most visual ways to tell the story of your family—so get hanging!

The best time for an outdoor photo session is either early in the morning or right around sunset. I’ve found that the best light is usually 15-20 minutes before sunset and 15-20 minutes after. You can visit timeanddate.com to get an accurate time for sunset on your scheduled photo session day and then back up approx. 1 hour to 1.5 hours from that time for start time. You want to make sure to factor in extra time just in case you happen to be running late, want to change outfits during the session, etc…
Session fee: $250, includes:
I accept cash, checks, PayPal and all major credit cards.
Turnaround for photos is approx. 1-2 weeks. I will usually post a few sneak peak images to social media within 24-48 hours of photographing the session, so make sure you are connected!
“I cannot say enough good things about Kim Photography! She is SO sweet to work with and makes you feel like a model. She gave me tips to help me feel my best and made taking family pictures a fun event. Her final products are a work of art. The digital previews were gorgeous but the final product was breathtaking. —Natalia C. Las Vegas, NV—”
“Kim did family photos for us to start off the new year. They turned out amazing! I have 3 little boys 5,3 and 2 and she did a great job being able to tame them while capturing the essence of their personalities in the photos. That is not an easy task. I’m not the most comfortable behind the camera, I’m naturally a little awkward, but she made me feel at ease and got some great shots of me interacting with my family that looked so natural and effortless. I would definitely use her again! —Chrislynn M. Las Vegas, NV—”
