About Kim

I came to the United States from Vietnam more than twenty years ago to study, build a life, and create opportunity. My journey has taken me from pharmacy to business, and ultimately to photography, but one thing has remained constant: a curiosity about people and how they create meaningful impact.

For more than a decade, photography has introduced me to remarkable leaders across Southern Nevada. Through hundreds of portraits and conversations with executives, entrepreneurs, educators, nonprofit leaders, and public servants, I began seeing something beyond individual success. I began to understand how trust becomes collaboration, how partnerships strengthen communities, and how leadership shapes the future.

Those experiences inspired me to begin building the Nevada Leadership Archive, a long-term project documenting the leaders, partnerships, and stories shaping Southern Nevada. Through portraiture, publications, and written reflections, the archive seeks to preserve not only the people leading today, but also the relationships and collaborations that help communities thrive.

Today, I continue creating executive portraits through Kim Photography LLC while sharing the lessons I learn through writing, conversations, and documentary projects.

I believe every portrait begins with a conversation, and every conversation has something to teach us.
